2. How We Use Information

Local Preferences

Used solely to provide you with a personalized experience and remember your settings between app sessions.

Music Integration Data

Used only to display current track information in the NotchFlow interface. This data is processed locally and never transmitted to our servers.

License Information

Used to validate your purchase and ensure you have access to NotchFlow features. Processed securely through Lemon Squeezy.

Usage Analytics

Used to understand how NotchFlow is used, identify popular features, and improve app performance. All analytics are anonymous and cannot be traced back to individual users.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties.

Limited Third-Party Interactions

  • Lemon Squeezy: Handles payment processing and license validation. They have their own privacy policy governing transaction data.
  • Apple Music/Spotify: We only read currently playing track information through official APIs. We don't send any data to these services.
  • macOS System APIs: We interact with system APIs for screen detection and notifications, but no data leaves your Mac.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid court order or legal process.

4. Data Security

Local Storage Security

All your preferences and settings are stored locally on your Mac using macOS's secure storage mechanisms. This data is protected by your Mac's security features and user account permissions.

Network Communications

When NotchFlow communicates with external services (like license validation), all connections use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).

App Sandboxing

NotchFlow follows Apple's sandboxing guidelines, limiting the app's access to only necessary system resources and preventing unauthorized data access.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Data Control

  • Access: All your data is stored locally and accessible through the app's settings
  • Modification: You can change any preferences or settings at any time
  • Deletion: You can reset all settings or uninstall the app to remove all data

Analytics Opt-Out

You can disable anonymous usage analytics in NotchFlow's preferences. This will not affect app functionality.

Music Service Integration

You can disconnect music services at any time through the app's settings. NotchFlow will continue to work without music integration.

GDPR Rights (EU Users)

If you're in the EU, you have additional rights including data portability and the right to be forgotten. Since we collect minimal data stored locally, most of these rights are automatically fulfilled.

6. International Data Transfers

Since NotchFlow stores all user data locally on your Mac, there are no international data transfers of your personal information. The only data that may cross borders is:

  • License validation requests to Lemon Squeezy (based in the US)
  • Anonymous usage analytics (if enabled)

These transfers are minimal and do not include personal information.

7. Children's Privacy

NotchFlow is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.

8. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

  • We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy
  • We'll notify users through the app if there are significant changes
  • The updated policy will be available on our website

Your continued use of NotchFlow after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
